Deloitte & Touche Launches 2001 Canadian Technology Fast 50 Program
Search for Year's and Next Wave of Canada's Fastest Growing Tech Companies

TORONTO, April 23, 2001 - Deloitte & Touche commenced its search of Canada's technology companies today, with a call for nominations for the fourth annual Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50. The program identifies Canada's fastest growing technology companies, both public and private, from all technology sectors, including software, biotechnology and manufacturing that are driving accelerated growth in the industry today.

“The Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50 program honours the fastest-growing technology companies nationally,” said Garry Foster, National Director, Technology & Communications, Deloitte & Touche. “Because the Fast 50 ranking is based on percentage growth for the past five years, it includes companies of all sizes, both public and private. As well, the ranking includes companies from all types of technology industries, from biotech to computers, so it provides an exciting snapshot of the industry that is driving the world economy today.”

Deloitte & Touche also announced that all recipients of the 2001 Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50 will be automatically eligible for the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 program that ranks the fastest growing companies in North America. 46 of last’s years Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50 winners placed on the 2000 Technology Fast 500 list.

Nominations for the 2001 Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50 program will be accepted through to June 22, 2001 with recipients to be announced on September 21.
